Wimbledon takes over New York City as the tournament expands beyond UK borders
There is only one place in the world where you can be greeted by Wimbledon stewards and invited to immerse yourself in the quintessential experience of British tradition and fare, with iconic strawberries & cream and Pimm’s served in a beautiful garden bar. Well, now you can make that two as Wimbledon expands its experience across the pond in New York City. It might not be as big as the British Invasion -- a cultural movement in the mid 1960s when all aspects of British music, lifestyle and entertainment exploded onto the scene and became popular in the United States -- but, already in its third year and having moved to a much larger and more picturesque location, Wimbledon’s invasion of New York City already seems to be a smash hit.

Vice President Harris takes the stage at Essence Festival, only mentions Biden once
As mounting calls for President Joe Biden to step down permeate through the Democratic party, Vice President Kamala Harris visited New Orleans to speak to a largely Black audience about the stakes of the 2024 election. While speaking at the Essence Festival, Harris mostly ignored the criticisms the president has faced over the past week since his highly criticized debate performance and interview with ABC News' George Stephanopoulos. Harris did little to bolster or defend the president, she in fact only mentioned Biden one time while referencing debt relief and instead, opted to attack former President Donald Trump over his 34 convictions.

Judge denies Trump aide's motion to dismiss classified documents indictment
The judge overseeing Donald Trump's classified documents case denied a motion to dismiss the charges against the former president's co-defendant and longtime aide, Walt Nauta. Nauta's lawyers attempted to have the charges against him thrown out by arguing that he was "selectively" and "vindictively" prosecuted by investigators – a claim that Judge Aileen Cannon considered during a hearing in May. In an order issued saturday, Cannon denied the motion to dismiss the case, determining that Nauta failed to prove the prosecution was "motivated by a discriminatory purpose" or that others who engaged in similar conduct were not prosecuted.

Beryl remains a tropical storm with winds of 60 mph as it churns in the Gulf of Mexico as of Saturday morning, but it is expected to strengthen before hitting Texas on Sunday with potential Category 1 strength. The land interaction from Beryl’s time over the Yucatan Peninsula did a number on the storm, weakening it from a hurricane to a disorganized tropical storm during the day Friday. On Saturday, Beryl may take some time to recover, but is forecast to begin strengthening by the end of the day.

The U.S. Supreme Court ruling granting presidential immunity for official acts -- seen as benefiting Donald Trump in his Jan. 6 trial -- has renewed calls to impeach or take other "aggressive oversight" against conservative members of the court. The day the ruling came down, New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez vowed to file articles of impeachment when Congress returns next week, although that would be a political long shot. "The Supreme Court has become consumed by a corruption crisis beyond its control," said Ocasio-Cortez in a social media post.

Biden disputes diminishing poll numbers, low approval rating after debate
Despite a drop in multiple polls after his debate performance last week, President Joe Biden told ABC News' George Stephanopoulos on Friday that he doesn't believe the numbers and thinks more Americans back him than the polls indicate. A New York Times/Siena College poll released on Monday found that the president had a 36% approval rating among likely voters.
